“A Place Close to My Heart”

This painting was exhibited at the Gaylord Pickens Museum in Oklahoma City, USA, through the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition (OVAC) as part of a juried show. Selected among 75 talented, Oklahoma-based artists, I was honored to have my work featured in this exhibition, which celebrated a diversity of cultures and artistic expressions. This piece marked a significant milestone in my artistic journey as my first work chosen for an exhibition. I felt incredibly happy and proud to present my roots and childhood memories, sharing a piece of my heritage with a welcoming community. Being part of this remarkable show alongside other amazing artists was both inspiring and deeply rewarding.

“Wisdom in Wrinkles”
“Wisdom in Wrinkles”

This piece was showcased in a juried exhibition as part of the Strange and Unusual themed show at Living Arts of Tulsa, USA. Selected by the judges, “The Wisdom in Wrinkles” delves into themes of resilience and wisdom, offering a unique and thought-provoking perspective. Additionally, I was deeply honored when this painting was selected for another significant exhibition, a collaboration between a gallery, Paseo Arts, and the Creativity Center Gallery in OKC, with the Friends of OU Breast Cancer Institute. The theme of this exhibition was Hope, and they were seeking works that could provide inspiration and strength to breast cancer patients. “The Wisdom in Wrinkles” was chosen for its powerful message of resilience, and it was renamed “Echoes of Time”for this special occasion. To have my painting be part of such a meaningful event, bringing hope to those in need, was both humbling and inspiring. Being able to contribute in this way through art was a profoundly moving experience.
